In 1882, in the booming frontier town of Fort Worth, William Capps and Samuel Benton Cantey formed the law firm that is today known as Cantey Hanger LLP. Both were talented trial attorneys and quickly earned a reputation as a top litigation firm – a reputation Cantey Hanger has built upon during the past 130 years, as we have evolved into a respected, full-service law firm with offices in three Texas cities.

Today, Cantey Hanger maintains offices in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Austin to provide local service to our Texas clients. Cantey Hanger has been privileged to be actively involved in the evolution and development of North Texas, having served as legal counsel in forming the first electric utility in Fort Worth (a client we have represented for more than 100 years) and bringing the Stockyards to Fort Worth. There are now three streets in Fort Worth named in honor of our original partners. Our commitment to our home town is strong. Our longtime home, Cantey Hanger Plaza, stands proudly on the West side of downtown Fort Worth.
