Description:
As The Law Firm for Associations® and The Law Firm for Meeting Professionals®, Howe & Hutton, Ltd. focuses exclusively on trade and professional associations, other nonprofits and hospitality industry clients that organize meetings, events, trade shows and conventions. When we were established in 1985, we intended to provide the best possible legal services for a specialized client base. We had the goal of addressing nonprofits' legal concerns with experience, urgency, creativity and practicality. We have surpassed even our own expectations.
Nonprofit organizations use legal services differently than for-profit corporations. When Jonathan T. Howe and Terrence Hutton established Howe & Hutton, Ltd., they knew nonprofits required legal counsel that was familiar with nonprofit law as well as other areas of law impacting nonprofit organizations. Since our firm's beginning, we have assembled a dedicated group of lawyers and support personnel knowledgeable in this complex and unique area of law.
Simply put, nonprofits are what we do every day. Our attorneys use legal and practical experience in addressing their problems. We have represented more than 300 diverse nonprofits; we understand how they work and how they do not. We see trends and make suggestions to board members and staff based on what we have seen in other organizations.
